Barkerville 2

During our 2nd day at Barkerville we explored the mining aspect for gold.





 Prosperous miners were able to afford a wheel barrow to help carry their belongings

After underground mining died down, miners turned to hydrolic mining


 A trip to the cemetry. Average age 32

 There were many unmarked grave sites
 We ran out of cash. Extra work was available

 Our B and B hostess also worked the post office. She is applying the Barkerville stamp on the postcards we mailed before leaving town
